This vase is robotically carved and hand-finished in my one-man shop in Colorado. Each piece is made from a solid glue-up of walnut hardwood and includes a removable ceramic insert, drip tray, and protective mesh to help safeguard the wood. The vase measures 7" tall with a 6" diameter.
The exterior features a Truchet pattern, a geometric design built from a single repeating tile that can be rotated to create endlessly varied paths and forms. The pattern highlights how simple rules can generate rich complexity, evoking movement, adaptability, and depth emerging from minimal structure.
To prevent water damage, the internal ceramic vase should always be removed before watering. As with all natural wood products, slight imperfections such as small knots, minor cracks, and natural color variation may be present. I aim for the highest level of precision, but wood is an inherently organic and imperfect material.
